Why Kai Roland?

Kai Roland is a pseudonym I've used for many years in several areanas in my life, including writing and other such things. I decided to continue to use it online as identity protection, so if you're a potential employer or customer you can contact me to get more information.

I started out in the web design industry at a company called Origin 3. Anyone in the industry might know that Origin 3 eventually went under and left customers and employees out in the dust. It was unfortunate, until the last few months when things began to get very rocky, our customers loved us and it was a great work environment. I did my best to help as many customers as I possibly could but some I just didn't have the necessary skills to help out. I don't regret my time spent there, it was one of the best jobs I ever worked at and I miss the staff terribly. Many I still speak with on occasion. It was a rare time in my life where I actually got up and was excited to go to work everyday. The staff was exceedingly knowledgable and I learned many things from them.

I've drawing ever since I can remember, some of my sketches you can see in my portfolio, and if you told me even ten years ago that I would one day be in commercial art I would have called you crazy. I was about twelve when my father purchased our first 486 processor with Windows 3.1 and I'm surprised he never killed me for crashing the computer twice for playing with things in the DOS backdrop. Who knew that years later I could be in a field that would combine my two passions?

Design is what I would most love to do, but anything computers, marketing, or business related is also a plus and I love to learn anything and everything I can. Every job is a new experience and a new possibility to grow and extend my abilities - no matter what I'm doing. I thank you for your time in getting to know me a little better.
